Above is my Technology Timeline which i made in the format of a photo collage.
I included a full size image at the bottom of this blog post so you can see every photo or label in more detail .
The following are the included sections in my timeline -
1851 - Wet Collodion Plate Process. The Wet collodion plate process was invented by Frederick Scott Archer in London England, and was a big step forward in photography as negatives were produced on glass, rather than paper that they were previously produced on prior to the invention.

1871 - Gelatin Emulsion. Gelatin emulsion, also known as the Gelatin Silver Process, improved the wet plate process by using silver salts in gelatin. This process is still used today with available black and white film and is able to be kept for many years before it needs to be processed.

1879 - Photogravure process. Photogravure is a mechanical process which involves coating a copper plate with gelatin tissue, and then etching, which produces a photograph like print.

1907 - Autochrome plate. The autochrome plate was an early color photography process invented by the Lumiere brothers in France. The autochrome plate was a glass slide which contained dyed potato starch which acted as a filter when being exposed to light.

1925 - Introduction of 35mm film by Leica. 35mm film was invented for use in mirror less cameras in the 1920's, and was then carried through to be used with later SLR cameras until they became digital - DLSR's.

1936 - First 35mm SLR introduced by Ihagee. Ihagee produced the first 35mm SLR camera to be sold to consumers. This was a big step for photography as the mirror in the camera showed the user exactly what they were taking a picture of.

1954 - Leica M introduced. The Leica M3 is said to be the best camera that Leica ever produced, and possibly even the best camera of all time. This is because of its precise focus, which was better than any other camera of its time.

1988 - The first true digital camera is introduced, the Fuji DS-1P. The Fuji DS-1P introduced a brand new feature to technology - the removable memory card.

1999 - Introduction of the Nikon D1. The Nikon D1 was said to be the worlds first "practical DSLR", and more importantly, affordable for the average consumer.

2008 - Introduction of the Canon EOS 5D mkii. The 5D mkii was the first camera to have full HD video recording capability , which really raised the bar in terms of photography.
